Natural Beauty From the Inside Out Sweepstakes by Ron & Lisa Beres on July 18, 2013 91 comments ENTER TO WIN ! From the Inside Out Sweepstakes! As the old adage goes, Beauty is only skin deep . However, today, with the transparency of green washing, deceitful marketing tactics and a self-policing cosmetics industry, we now know better. Beauty is much deeper than the our largest organ (skin) and in fact, goes all the way to our blood stream, liver and other vital organs. So, what happens when your so-called beauty product is chock-full of dangerous chemicals like phthalates , parabens , synthetic fragrances preservatives, carcinogens and endocrine disruptors ? Suddenly, that beauty product becomes, well oogly! What you cant see in this case can definitely hurt you. We witness over and over, unwitting consumers purchasing products loaded with toxic chemicals linked to hormone disruption, respiratory issues and even cancer . They spray, puff, douse and inhale these all for an instant moment of gratification. The worst part is, with a bit of knowledge and an arsenal of awareness, one can look and feel beautiful with products that work just as effectively (if not better) without the long-term side effects. Yep, you heard that rightlong term. No one said you are going to hurl over with one cosmetic application. Thats how the manufacturers get away with it. Instead, many of these chemicals bioaccumulate in your system and can have unknown synergistic effects when combined with other chemicals. But, when ill health strikes down the road, youll never put two and two together. Is this high price of beauty REALLY worth it for you? We have great news (so, puh-leeze, toss the toxic skincare regime today). You can have it all beauty, great skin and health (the brains partwell, thats totally up to you)! Personally, I (Lisa) trashed my toxic makeup bag and canned the crappy contents many years ago. The most ironic thing of it all is that those overpriced products actually made my skin worse! I felt worse, looked worse as was buying into all of the marketing hype. Since then (as you know duh) I have dedicated my life to helping others live optimally (yep, that is a word and most are unfamiliar with it because theyve become accustomed to living a life of mediocrity). Ron and I seek out the bestest brands around and bring them to YOU so that you have healthy, non-toxic, green, organic and trusted options from which to choose. Im thrilled about todays giveaway cuz when it comes to beauty from the inside (as in ingredients) outthis brand hit the mark! Introducing, BeautyMark Organics founded by former model and mortgage industry exec, Jenna Lobos, whose goal was to regain her feminine power and give back to women. She bottled up empowerment, trust and integrity and added a dash of lime, cinnamon, rose, tangerine, mango and carrot. Today we are beyond thrilled to offer one lucky reader (4) BeautyMark Organic products. I have used the products and can attestthey work (and smell) amazingly. Whos ready to be and feel fantastical? O.k.

AJ’s Natural Beauty Blog: Phthalates Found in Skin Care & Cosmetic Products and the Possible Dangers of Exposure

Wet your hair, start massaging your hair and whip up a good lather for 1 minute or 2 so the shampoo can do its job. Rinse out the shampoo with warm water, then work the Monoi Repairing Conditioner into your wet hair. Detangle hair with your fingers and be sure to cover all your hair with the rich cream. Leave in your hair for 3 to 5 minutes, then rinse out. Next, shake the Monoi Anti-Breakage Spray well, making sure the two parts have fully combined. Hold 6 to 8 inches away from wet hair and spray all-over to strengthen as you detangle. Dont rinse out. Now lets repair those split ends: Lightly press down on the pump of the Split End Sealer to apply a pea-sized amount to wet or dry hair. Make sure to smooth completely through to the ends. Style as usual.

With 3 people working for 4 months the results were almost identical to the Danish findings. o Professor Swan is quoted in the documentary “Men in Danger” as saying “there are 85,000 chemicals in commerce, most of which we know nothing about…. Their effects on carcinogenic potential, metabolism, immune system and reproductive potential…” o The studies relating to the feminization of wildlife exposed to estrogen chemicals and compounds may effect breast growth and lactation and could have a role in uterine disease such as fibroids and endometriosis, according to McLachlan, Simpson and Martin of Tulane and Xavier universities in their 2006 study (1) o Professor Lou Guillette, Zoologist of University of Florida, in 2 studies repeated a year apart, phthalates in low concentrations, (parts per trillion) found the chemicals caused sex reversal in fish and amphibians. o Mexico’s National Institute of public Health led by researcher Lizbeth Lopez-Carrillo found correlation between the concentrations of certain Phthalate metabolites in the urine Argan Oil Serum of breast cancer victims. Monoethyl Phthalate (MEP) was found in higher concentrations of the 233 patients with cancer than the 221 women tested who were without the disease. This suggests MEP and other phthalates induces DNA damage. It was found that certain phthalate compounds alter gene expression without altering the genetic code itself. o Baby care products were the focus of studies by the University of Washington, led by researcher Sheela Sathyanarayana. Urine samples from babies who had baby lotion, shampoo and powder used on their skin showed the significant presence of phthalates Monoethyl phthalate (MEP) (MMP) and monoisobutyl phthalate (MiBP) “These findings suggest that dermal exposures may contribute significantly the phthalate body burden in this population” concluded the researchers. And still the chemical and cosmetic industry claim there is not enough scientific evidence to be concerned and therefore no danger to humans from these chemicals. I can’t avoid thinking about the Tobacco Industry fiasco where the cigarette manufactures refused to admit there could be something sinister regarding the incidences of lung cancer linked to cigarette smoking!
