In her early 20s, Onesti started studying interior design but her passion for beauty products and esthetics remained. She was on the fence about her career path and decided that one way to pay for her education would be to get an esthetician license. After finishing an associate degree in general education at Sierra College, Onesti returned to her native Napa and immersed herself in beauty school full time. She eventually landed at Luxe Spa, where she says she come in contact with the wonderful women in my life who have become my customers. I learned a tremendous amount from the owner of Luxe in terms of what to do and what not to do, Onesti added. Thats what allowed me to make careful decisions about growing my business, mastering new skills before I grew and the correct way to slowly add on more services. While Luxe wasnt her own business, she knew she eventually wanted to be a small business owner and took time to learn about the spa business. At age 23, Onesti went out on her own. She started Pure Skin Spa using $20,000 of her own savings to purchase equipment. I was working at the spa, baby-sitting on my days off and basically working seven days a week, she says. — Dozens of Foster Farms chicken products have been recalled because of salmonella contamination. Foster Farms voluntarily agreed to recall chicken products produced in March. The recall products have an establishment number “P6137”; “P6137A”; or “P7632” inside the USDA marks of inspection. It was produced at Central Valley Plants including Fresno. It’s likely not being sold in stores anymore. But it could be in your home freezers, which is a big concern for the Fourth of July holiday. “There’s a lot in my family so we keep a lot in the freezer and take out what we need when we need it,” Joe Reyes, a Foster Farms Chicken consumer, said. The chicken products would have “Use or Freeze By” dates ranging from March 21 to March 29. They were sold in stores like Costco and FoodMaxx, as well as other retail stores.
