It applied for a building permit Sept. 30. Certainly, numerous salons dot Twin Falls’ business landscape, but if it comes to fruition ULTA’s store will be something out of the ordinary: a salon combined with a store and sharing 10,000 square feet. Billing itself as “the largest beauty retailer that provides prestige, mass and salon products and salon services in the United States,” ULTA says it is growing quickly. According to its website, it operates more than 700 locations in 47 states. Why Twin Falls? Rachel Coleman, who does public relations work on behalf of ULTA, provided a press release saying the beauty retailer “opens in areas where there is easy access for its customers and where it feels that the local residents would be open to all that ULTA Beauty offers.” The new location has set a tentative opening for the second half of 2015. Coleman said ULTA plans to hire more than 20 people locally. What will it pay? Her email said “ULTA is committed to attracting and keeping the best talent and offers competitive pay packages at all levels.” Jarrod Bordi of the Twin Falls Building Department is out of the office this week, so he was unavailable for comment on how the permit process is coming for ULTA and other retailers, including Petco and Dick’s Sporting Goods, which have applied for building permits at Canyon Park West.
